‘Surveillance is Conducted’ is a statement found in almost every transportation vehicle around Europe, creating metropolises of a panoptical nature. In a panopticon one feels watched, and assuming they are always observed, they behave accordingly.
The focus of the Surveillance is Conducted collection is to explore the emotional impact of surveillance and its effect on our behavior. Several motifs are explored through the works: nakedness, embryonic formations and the setting of the metropolis. The nude figures resemble radiographs; they are designed to explore the emotional aspect of surveillance, manifested in self-monitoring and fragility. On the other hand, the volatile nature of the embryonic formations explores our proneness to surveillance from the earliest point of our existence.
