The focus of this collection and exhibition is the self’s multiple variations and its interactions with the outside world. Through three series and a central piece, three motifs are explored: nakedness, volatile ink formations, variable selves and accumulated faces.
These motifs find a common ground in the central piece, titled Double Mirror; this painting anchors and unites the exhibition through three themes: the body, the uncertain, and spatial interactions within liminality.
Liminality in this sense, is a space is brought into existence during transition, when the original form is abandoned and the new one is not yet reached; it is a condition of in-betweenness, ambiguity and waiting. Within liminality, the human variability manifests itself; where within oneself, various, deeper personas continue to reveal themselves.

A visual motif appears in many of my small- sized, intimate ink paintings: The Familiar Observer.
The ‘observer’ is variable in form, yet consistently present. It reflects a sense of alienation and self-monitoring, ironically by someone who becomes familiar due to its constant presence.
